What a long road it has been, getting this domain back, fighting for a space in the vast internet world we live in.
And then… a press release it was known as Tribes: Universe! Our hearts started pumping, we did not know what to do. N^G poked me and said, this is the time to bring everyone from the old community back, so we started with the basics, you know: forum, news, columns the whole shabang!
Then more fire, not only was Tribes: Universe something we could focus on, no Hi-Rez Studios would first release Tribes: Ascend, a stand alone F2P game which would be the ground work for Tribes: Universe. From the words of Hi-Rez and the info which was being released bit by bit, it seemed our long awaited sequel to the Tribes series was finally here.
Fast forward till august 2012, the game has been out for some months now and Hi-Rez is finally adding features to make this game a proper eSports title. This however hasn’t stopped the development of GameShrine as a community. With the dedicated help from irn-bru, GReaper, N^G, Spawny and Lumberjack the 2nd and now 3rd iteration of the site is going strong. With currently over 2000 players and 169 teams registered we recently started a new cup for new players so they can feel the excitement we old folks have been experiencing since 1998.
We can only hope that Tribes: Ascend will have a strong future and will give us many more great gaming years. For now I just want to thank the great community and the people behind it.
